Nappy Ewe, who?

Yes, I know, where have I been? Well, after the surgery, getting back to work and then the holidays, I feel like time has flown by. However, with the passage of time has come many fiber related events and activities! What kind you ask? Well.....

I even went to Marr Haven Wool Farm located in Allegan, MI this week. Marr Haven is the home of beautiful Merino/Rambouiltte sheep and I scored some of their roving. I cannot wait to spin it up! No photos though. The sheep ran off from the fence! So, as you see, I have been busy knitting along with keeping up with my life. There is always time for fiber and knitting!

This summer, I plan on going to Midwest Fiber and Folk Art Fair again, as well as adding a new event to the list. Vogue Knitting Live! is coming to Chicago in October. I cannot wait to go. I hope to take some interesting classes and meet some fiber celebrities.

Oh, about my works in progress. I am working on an Elizabeth Zimmermann Seamless Yoke Sweater using her Percentage System. I hope it turns out well.

I have also fallen in love with sock yarn! Who knew! You know, this sounds very familiar. I remember saying that I would never spin and I now have a wheel and I love spinning. Oh, by the way, that Piper's Journey Shawl you see above? See the yarn for the edging? I spun it! But, I digress!

I have said in the past that I would never knit socks with any yarn lighter than worsted weight. Well, once again, crow is on my menu. I am working on a pair of sport weight socks with Felici yarn from Knit Picks in the Recess colorway. It is self striping and so much fun. I cannot wait to finish and wear them.

I guess that is it for now. I will try to write again soon. Unless life gets in the way! But, I will be sure to knit, spin, laugh and have fun!
